I just bought parts for a new computer that i built from scratch.

Not being an overly good computer builder, I encountered some errors along the way... not the least of which is the famed Black screen. The PC boots I think, and fans are going, sounds good, but the screen just stays black.. Tried both digital and analog cable, same result. Screen is black, a marker in upper left corner flicks between analog and digital for a few seconds.. then the screen goes into hibernation with the powerbutton blinking every second or so.

I have:
- 2X Radeon HD 4850 in crossfire mode. (tried removing the crossfire bridge, same result)
- Samsung Syncmaster 204b LCD screen
- Intel core quad prosessor
- Soundblaster soundcard
- 2x 2Gb Corsair DDR2 DIMM
- ASUS P5Q Motherboard
- Standard DVD writer and HDD.

Can anyone help out here? Possible solutions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try with the following:
One vid card only.
Remove the sound card.
1 stick of RAM only.

Also check to see if all MBoard standoffs were used and Thermal Compound was applied properly on the CPU/heatsink assembly...

Is this a brand new power supply ? ? If so make and wattage ? ?

Any beeps at bootup ? ?Ok, removed sound card, 1 RAM and one vid card. same result, also tried using my laptop as a screen, that didnt work EITHER.
Thermal paste was applied to the heatsink. properly or not....well... thin layer over the whole THING.

What do you mean Motherboard standoffs?

yes the powersupply is brand new, like everything else IM afraid.. Its an OCZ stealth extreme, 600W.
