Answer» I own an ASUS Eee 1018B: OS 7 Starter. After turning on the computer I only get a BLACK screen with a flashing underscore at the top left. Help! LET me know and do one thing remove all usb connectors from motherboard take out the BIOS battery ( cr2032 mostly ) and place it again so the bios will be reset i hope it helpsFirst of all check the brightness(back light) by hold the Fn key and continuosly press the up arrow key to increase d light,if nothing happened,try connect it to external monitor(if its laptop) and if the monitor dispayed properly change the screen.

Can you boot to USB?normally black screen occur in hardware failure ( or ) non-supportive hardware

have you recently installed any NEW hardware ? LET me know

and do one thing remove all usb connectors from motherboard
