Solve : black screen but lights on?

1.	Solve : black screen but lights on?
Answer» have a pavilion dv4, black screen, but lights come on and fan works, etc, is there a way to know if it is the lcd screen for sure? i tried hooking up external monitor, that didnt work THOUGH. also, i RESEATED and swapped out ram, reseated hard drive. any other ideas?? thanks.Is there any history prior to this problem of any other problems? Such as overheating or battery LIFE issues etc?
