Solve : Blank screen trouble?

Answer»

Im using a HP Pavilion P6190D model and it was connected to a 23' HP monitor which keeps on going to sleep or blackout when i run some normal programs. So, i wired the CPU to my television and its the same. All the cables are new and my dirver is up to date. This problem occurs either on Vista or 7. Anyone that got a solution please help.Check the settings in Power Options in Control Panel and make sure you don't have it set to power down the dislplayEverything is set to maximum performance. It still happens. Further discription of the problem: Before the screen DIES, most of the time, its when i do smth, anything from pressing print page to INSTALLING programs. But sometimes, it happens when i didn do anything to it. It just hangs for awhile then go blank together with the SPEAKER which goes completely silent. If anyone got a solution, please tell me. Thanks alot. What happens in safe mode?Trying safe mode now. Btw, what if it nvr hangs in safe mode, does that mean i gonna use my computer in safe mode forever? lolsNo.
It does mean however you've narrowed it down to s driver issue... Quote from: patio on November 20, 2009, 07:21:02 AM

No.

Or some sort of software conflictSo far doesnt seem to have any problem.Okay. Open msconfig and on the startup tab choose "selective startup" (disable everything) and reboot. Everything good?trying it now.ok it still happen when i was SHUTTING down the comp lolswell not only for shutting down, it even happen when i startup my computer.Okay, then as patio said above it's probably a driver issue. Go back to normal startup from msconfig. Download and install the latest driver for your video card (from the OEM website) and make sure you have the correct driver for your display installed. Then go to display properties and make certain the correc display is shown. Also, go back into power options and check the advanced settings to make sure the display is not set to power down.ive updated the driver and set everything to the correct setting[ i THINK] but it still occur, just that not so often.
