Answer» Hey,
Alright, well i know what the initial response is going to be, but I bought a Bluetooth USB adapter off ebay cheap and it's not working. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220431379099&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&salenotsupported There's tons being sold by everyone, all exactly the same, so i figured it would WORK, and I still figure it should work. Whenever I plug it in, HOWEVER, it says "USB Device Not Recognized". It's suppose to just be plug and play so I don't know that it has any vista or xp drivers to download, please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm just wondering what I can do to get this to work, I haven't used bluetooth before so I figure I'm probably missing something.
If it's destined to the garbage I'm wondering if anyone knows of a cheap bluetooth adapter that i could buy that they know works well. Preferably for Vista although XP would work.
ThanksSeller was of no use, I don't think he even really read my email.
I tried it on another computer, for some REASON expecting it to work, it didn't.I think you should use a driver for this. I saw those auctions too and they say "No driver required." Check http://www.downloadatoz.com/driver/type_Bluetooth.html for it. In the auction page, they told a lie and it said "True Plug & Play in XP and Vista."
If you don't want a driver, install the latest service pack and try.The PROBLEM is there is no indication of a manufacturer so i can't search for the proper driver. I just figured with what must be literally hundreds of ebay sellers selling these that they must work and someone must know how.In another thread on this forum, the poster was able to download a driver from the computer manufacturer's website, and it worked.
You might try that, please.I'd love to, but once again Quote from: Anythingwill on July 24, 2009, 08:30:24 AM The problem is there is no indication of a manufacturer so i can't search for the proper driver.
Here, I'll post a picture of the packaging so you can see what I mean
