Answer» i have a gateway PC that i would like to format and load win 2000pro it now has win xp and is only a 10 gig hd. problem #1 i can boot to the Bios, but can't do anyting because keyboard does not work. And there is no provision for a PS/2 keyboard in that machine, or you just don't have one? Quote if i boot from cd then i get message that win 2000pro can not be in stalled. because it is older then the os that is in use. If that is a 2000 Pro Upgrade then THAT cannot be done, but you could use a lot of programs (including a WIN98SE bootdisk) to just delete the partition, then recreate one with the new O/S install. Thanks yea been reading on this thing about usb keyboards, and the bios. well the thing is that there is no ps2 ports on this crazy pc. just got to love gateway it has 4 usb ports. i guess i'm stuck with win xp on a wee little hard drive. what i wanted to do was format it and use it in another pc. and put a 30 gigg in this one. o wellSurely it didn't come with WinXP on it and that size drive?no it did not and i did not put in on there.What model # Gateway? Have you checked on their support site?You just don't learn, do you? I THINK your brain needs a scandisk. In the meantime, GX1_Man and Flame can make your posts say the stupidest things ever.
