Solve : Boot failure??

Answer»

I accidentally pressed the power button multiple times on my laptop (Windows 8 ) so it shut down incorrectly, and now whenever I turn it on it beeps and a "boot failure" message pops up. I've TRIED fixing it with articles but nothing has worked. Now it won't even start up in safe mode so I really don't know how to get it working again. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it!!There are multiple things that could cause a boot to fail, but force shutting down your laptop shouldn't be one of them. If your PC was doing a critical update, then yes possibly, but you should at least get a windows logo on the screen. I am thinking that this issue could UNFORTUNATELY be hardware related. This SOUNDS like it could be an issue with your laptop's hard drive because you said that I will not even boot into safe mode. The best course of action here if you do not know what you are doing with the computer would be to seek aid from SOMEONE you know that has deep computer knowledge to take a look at it.

But! Before you do that, please answer these QUESTIONS and maybe it will make it easier for us to help you.
1: Do you have a hard drive activity indicator light on your laptop? You know, the little LED light that blinks rapidly when the computer is in use? (You should, but newer ones have done away with it.)? If not disregard the following questions.
2: When you turn on your computer, watch and see if the light blinks rapidly as it would on a normal startup. If there is no lights at all, it is a hard drive failure. If there is a steady blinking light in a pattern, it could be an error code. If it stays solid or blinks rapidly and then stops, it is most likely software related.
3: What is the make and model of your laptop? (Brand and model)

That is all, hope we can get this problem resolved!
