Answer» hi all, my computer was working all right, suddenly display froze and now it won't boot up all monitor, CPU etc lights are on, fans are woking but there is no familiar beep which used to be there and there is nothing comes up on the display win xp pro sp2 800 mhz cpu 2 nos 10 gb hddReset the BIOS to its default values by either removing the CMOS battery for ~10 seconds or by shortcircuiting the CMOS jumper. Refer to your mainboard manual for more information.removed the CMOS battery, rebooted, its all same no nomal beep sound and nothing comes up on displayRemove all the hardware you currently have installed and leave only a stick of RAM, the processor (+ Heatsink/fan) and the videocard in place. I decided to change its processor, replaced with NEW one, it statred normally. I put the old one just for fun and it worked as well. I returned the new one and old one is still working well since Sturday. Thanks for all help. This morning I noticed that my PC turned on by itself, why, is there a new episode of events? Perhaps you set it to turn on at a SPECIFIC time? Check the BIOS.
