Solve : Broken computers what do you have??

Answer»

How many of you are like me with a ton of broken and unused parts, so far the tally is 3 broken laptops, 3 broken computers. Now the laptops are assorted busted like a screen on two of them and a videocard out on a decent alienware laptop, the desktops that are broken my media center is b0rked vista died on it so TIME for a reinstall already My linux box keeps getting parts stolen from it so its not really broken just not assembled and then my main system with its random BSOD's in vista I consider that broken also.

For parts I have a closet full of parts spare hd's a bag full of ram old MOTHERBOARDS processors that i don't use anymore i have at least 6 cases between the garage my closet and the basement

So how much junk do you have laying around either waiting to get fixed or just saving for a later project?I cant say that I really keep a bunch of broken junk, but I do sit and collect my computers... even when 4MHz is more outdated than imagined...

I have 13 computers...

A list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Zylstra555I probably have 5 computers including the old compaq EN

I torture now and again.i remade the frankenstein story with parts from my old atari 7600 (something like that) , mega drive, ps1, and xbox. unfortunately, it didn't work until i took the xbox parts out... *censored* microsoft copyright nazis >.< I have no broken PCs, unless you count my laptop which is in the process of being fixed.
I am looking into acquiring several other PCs, which will soon be broken (lots of tinkering - that's what a cheap one's for) you butcher!!! I have an old Tochiba TECRA notebook and the only part I use is the DVD-reader.
But it the BIOS of my sisters Dell won't accept it . But it works if you put it in after the BIOS is loaded.

Jonas maybe you need to use a hammer? that USUALLY makes things like that work for me...Don't have any broken computers, although the oldest one, a 200MHz Pentium, rarely gets used anymore. Now, parts, yes, I have some parts here and there, including two CRT monitors not being used and a non-working Canon BJC-2000 printer. I got rid of some stuff during a local computer recycling drive in May of this year.

I'm thinking about offering some money to someone for a computer that's not working. It has an AMD Athlon XP 2200 CPU and an 80 GB HD and Windows XP Home. I know the history behind it and I'm fairly sure it just needs a power supply.

By the way, perhaps this topic could have been posted in the Other forum; seems to me it's not really Off-Topic.No broken computers, per se, but I have an E-Machine. It's not dead yet, but it's dying a long, slow death. You all know what all I've replaced on it by now, and... add a monitor to the list. 4-5 broken / inoperable computers. Sometimes I need to sacrifice computers for computers I need with failed parts or to temporarily upgrade a computer (e.g. swapping out memory).
