Solve : Broken Screens on Acer Netbooks?

Answer»

I have considered buying an Acer Aspire One 751 netbook, but have found a number of threads on the internet saying that a design fault on Acer netbooks causes the screen to crack, sometimes within days of purchase. Acer then refuses to accept responsibility under warranty, saying that the netbook has been dropped.

Does anyone KNOW how WIDESPREAD this problem is, and does it also affect the 751 model? If you are talking about this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0SvcZmC89E) problem then it does seem quite common.

May people claim to have fixed it by disconnecting and reconnecting the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard but since I don't have an Aspire One I am unable to test this. No, that apparently is another problem they have!

TYPICAL of the posts I have found are here: http://www.netbookchoice.com/209/05/06/acer-aspire-one-751-reviewed-%E2%80I'd look at ASUS or Toshiba's...Personally I have the Samsung NC10 which is an old model now but there are new Samsung netbooks available and they are great!

GOOD quality and AMAZING battery life!
