Solve : Building a PC?

Answer»

I am building my first PC. I have had NUMEROUS PC's over the years going back to my first DOS based monster but what I'd like to know in your opinion (s), is what should I buy component wise. I want speed most importantly. I usually am multi-tasking in various graphic related programs such as Adobe Suite, MACROMEDIA or Corel so the graphic card I use is important. My monitor is a 32" Samsung LCD so I run multiple windows simultaneously. The sound card is also important as I am a musician but won't be running any music applications through this PC. Have a separate one for that. So my question is: Based on above what CPU, graphic card, sound card, I/O controllers, cooling system, RAM and compatible motherboard WOULD you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance,
BGI don't think your graphics card will be that important for that kind of thing.
Aim for a mid-range one anyway, 7600 or X1600 class.
Go for a Core 2 Duo CPU if possible.
And aim for a Creative Audigy 2 or better sound card.
Also, get at least 1Gb RAM.

But this all depends - what's your budget?
And where are you in the world?anything dual-core really, maybe even a 64-bit if youère really concerned about price.
Yes at least a gig.
Go for a 7600GS, I canèt really speak for ati, but they do tend to be less stable than nVidia IMHO.
160GB HDD
all togethor that should be no more than $600US. (have no CLUE how much in EUROS)Thanks for your input.
