Answer» Hello everyone. I'm new here. Looking for some help with something that's got me stumped. I've built about 8 systems in the last 5 years. I'm currently working on one for a friend who was on a tight budget, so we went AMD instead of Intel. Here's the setup: Motherboard: Biostar MCP6PB M2+ Motherboard - Socket AM2+, µATX, Audio, GeForce 6150 Graphics, SATA, RAID Processor: AMD ATHLON 64 X2 5200+ Processor ADO5200IAA5DO - 2.70GHz, Socket AM2, 1MB Cache, 1000MHz (2000 MT/s) FSB, Brisbane, Dual-Core, OEM
Put it into a new Cooler Master Elite case with a new 500w power supply (that I tested). Standard SATA Lite-On DVD/RW Drive and Seagate BARRACUDA 1 TB hard drive. Onboard sound and audio. 1GB (1x1GB) DDR2 667MHz memory
We plugged all this into my husband's Envision flat panel monitor (VGA) and his Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard.
The ENTIRE system powers on, fans are all running, seems to be working, no beeps from motherboard, but the monitor light never goes from orange to blue, so it's obviously not responding to whatever's going on in the computer.
I've already tried moving the RAM around in case I read the slots wrong, but it makes no difference. Same thing if we TRY to power on without a mouse/keyboard plugged in.
I'm completely stumped here. Any ideas? You mite want to go to the motherboard manufactures website for the manual and make sure everything is compatible for that board. and if you need the manual ,maybe download it too, they help Re check your atx 20 or 24 pinconnection and your 4 or 8 pin connection. You might want to try a our of case test. Use 1 stick of ram> cpu and heatsink connected> cpu fan> video hooked up to monitor? kekboard and mouse> start system to see if you get a display.Thermal paste applied properly ? ? All MBoard standoffs in place ? ?um this happened to me when i rebuilt the system...if you have POST codes tell them to us...or talk to your motherboard manufacter
what my problem was, the graphics card was not in all of the way make sure it is...make sure the fan is spinning and make sure all the connections to it are firm and in place
