Solve : Burnt-out AC cord??

Answer»

I have an HP pavilion laptop. It seems oftenly not to recognize that the AC power cord is plugged in, and switches to battery power (which is bad for me... I can't recharge it as the cord isn't recognized). The yellow inside of the computer-plugging-in END looks sort of burnt up, but I have never exposed my computer or cord to and temperatures higher than the computer's own heat. Should this be happening? I have replaced the cord once and the same thing HAPPENED. I'm a poor student and can't really afford EXTRA batteries and rechargers; can this be fixed, or is my laptop doomed? Any help is very greatly appreciated!

(Please EXCUSE my computer-idiocy... Social Science major here!)If it looks burnt then take it to the fixit shop.i would suggest getting a new cord. HOWEVER, if the same thing happens again, you might have a problem with your laptop.
