how do i know which one is compatible with my motherboard?

whats all the stuff about "Full duplex operation at 10/100Mbps" mean?

does my router need to be compatible with the network card?

"auto-sensing PORTS speed up performance and eliminate any need for manual switching" what does that mean?

which one would you guys recommend?

Thanks for any help.Ok just a tip..... don't BUY from pc world or curry's they rip of the everyday customer's ......

Have a look on ebay....or maplins ..... or just have a browse around online

Tony All you need is a standard card.
It should be a PCI interface, which almost all of them are.
And if you just want it for internet, a standard 10mbps card is FINE,.
If you want it for a network, get 100mbps or even 1000mbps.
The speeds are usually shown as 10, 10/100 or 10/100/1000.
As for compatibility, as long as you meet the requirements in terms of your OS, computer, and a free PCI slot, you'll be fine.Quote

It just means the network card is able to use the full 10 mbps and 100 mbps speed. Any network card less than 10 years old can do this.

It just means that network card is able to autodetect the speed of the connection and switch to the right mode. Again any network card less than 10 years old or so will do that.thanks guys you've been great help.
