Solve : Cable Length help?

Answer»

I use win xp pro and I know that the new BIOS that talk back and forth to the DEVICES have a Length Limit.

What I meen is I have a Scanner and it USES a USB Cable. Do I hjave to make shure that the USB Cable I use is not more then 15 Feet?

I ask because I thought I remembered something about if a Cable is more then 15 Feet.

Something about the way a Device works is it sends Data to the COMPUTER and the computer has to send Data back to the Device. And if the Cable is more then 15 Feet you may get problems.

Or is this just with Serial Cables Quote

Due to the maximum length of the cable between two devices of 5 metres and a maximum number of 5 hubs , it is possible to create a chain 25 meters in length.

http://en.kioskea.net/pc/usb.php3I'm using a 50m LAN Cable right now...    I am sorry I am in the USA how many Feet is ok befor you see a PROBLEM?

And is this just with Serial Cables I did not understand.
Thanks for the help25 Meters is approximately 82 feet.

What this means is creating a chain of USB Hubs, it shouldn't exceed 25 meters if each hub were 5 meters in length.
This means you shouldn't have more than 5 USB Hubs.
