Answer» Hello,
Please read by patience as this is little large. I have 3 partitions(C, D, E) of my 80 GB hard disk. First two partitions are of FAT32 and third one is with NTFS & of larger size than 32 GB. On C partition I have windows XP install. There is some cd-rom registry issue, so I want to format the C partition and reinstall the XP. As my cd-rom is not working so I run the XP setup from my D partition where I copied the complete XP folder. Here I dont get the option to format the C partition.
So my main issue is that my cd-rom has incomplete or corrupted registry ENTRY, for that I want to format the c drive and reinstall the window. Will this solve my issue. If yes then suggest me how to format the system/basic partition. If not then please tell me what should I do in ORDER to fix the cd-rom issue. I tried reinstalling XP without format but that didn't work. I also try to delete lower/upper filters for cd-rom in registry but these entrie are not there. In device manager I am getting the the following error "this device cannot start. {code 10} Also entry in device manager seems to be wrong like below "SAMSUNG CDmROM`SC-q5rG'. This also keep on changing when I do "scan for changes".
My cd-rom working FINE in other's COMPUTER and other cd-rom working fine with my computer even. I am very very thankful to you as you read all these. Please suggest something, if you can.
Best Regards
