Solve : can I be tracked through my Url,? |
|
Answer» my son recently got suspended from ebay, through no fault of his own I might add, so I said I would sign up for him in my name, we were up grading to broadband from the OLD BT dial up, as someone said you can be tracked by your IP, he emptied his temporary internet files, deleted all cookies ,swept the computer with Ad-aware, he also subscribed to Andale Image Hosting, he deleted all his photos and uploaded them again through his new server, now after all that I have been told he can be tracked through his URL from the photos when he lists through andale is this true??? and is there eny way he can be tracked now?? I need him sorted and out of my hair ,,,,,help !!Charlie: I need him sorted and out of my hair ,,,,,help !! Tell him to read up on TCP/IP and computer security and stop getting himself banned from websites. I NEVER get banned from websites. You cant be tracked. Well you can if ebay look at all the IPs which i doubt they do. I don't recommend bailing him out. let him find out the hard way. R0SSthe biggest track ........is via the credit card.....for emays sign up.. Quote You cant be tracked You wish. Quote the biggest track ........is via the credit card.....for emays sign up.. What or who did he agravate ? Have you tried to create a user name ( differant one )? I'm sure Ebay records IP address's ............ dl65 w2ell I'm sorry to say I have not gleaned any INFORMATION from these reply's apart from the obvious,!! I would have thought coming into what was meant to be a room full of computer experts somebody might have had the knowledge obviously not!!, Instead I get lectures on my parental responsibilitys, the reason he got banned from ebay is because someone bought an expensive item from him, then tried to claim they never received it, DISPITE presenting the evidence to paypal in the form of his tracking number, they still wouldnt accept it, even though it was showing up on the royal mail site as delivered !! they then switched there story to he delivered an empty box !!! "AH I here you cry" the weight on the parcel price would have justified it not being empty!!, then the sneaky git said it had a pile of newspapers in it, at the end of the day anyone with an ounce of knowledge about paypal and ebay will KNOW the hassle involved and they basically do what they like, why he wants to go back on there I will knever know?? Those who administer your ISP may then provide your identity to those who contact them. |
