I'm upgrading my CPU and I wondered if someone could TELL me WHETHER I need a new heatsink and fan, or can I USE the ONE that is currently inside my computer?it is much safer to use a new heat seak fan INSTEAD of an old one. When you buy a new CPU.. There should be a fan that comes with it inside the box.. Mine did it was an Intel Celeron 850mhz.. Unfortuantly it is to fast for any of my comptuers to take

If the CPU is not to faster then an old fan should be fine.

Example: Intel Celeron 400-600mhz the old fan should be fine

If you have a 1 ghz CPU and want to uprgrade to 2ghz then you should defitley get a new fan,There is no way to know unless u tell me the fan and the new cpu's names.So far,so funny. :-?
