Solve : Can´t Get into Bios to adjust audio settings please help?

Answer»

I just installed a new video card on a computer that I got.  And now there is no audio,

I researched the problem and it said that I need to go into the system BIOS and transfer the audio back to the integrated audio of the motherboard but I can´t access the BIOS.  I did what it tells me for my motherboard an Asus P5n-e SLI but it only took me to somewhere where I could restart the computer in repair mode. Where I went it told me to hold F11 as soon as I boot the computer.  So I don´t know what to do to GET sound back on my computer.  I downloaded the driver for it for windows 7 also because I recently installed that as well, but that didn´t help, so I´m thinking that I need to go in to the BIOS and transfer it back like I said earlier if you could please help me with the information on how to do this I would really appreciate it. Thank You.Hi

On your board it's the delete key when the computer first starts not F11

Most likely if the video card has HDMI you need to change the default Audio Out in windows to the onboard audio not HDMI.Okay thank you, I still don't know how to do that though. If you could help out a little bit more that would be NICE. Thank you I appreciate it.Could you give more details of the Windows VERSION and what graphics card you installed please.

In Windows XP you would go to control panel , sounds and audio devices , then Audio tab , then sound playback device select to onboard like realtek or ac97 but not HDMI audio out.

That is only if your Video card has an  HDMI SOCKET. I have windows 7 and the graphics card I installed is a Nvidia Geforce 210Hi

Here is a site with a procedure on how to check your sound settings

It's possible with that card and drivers that the default audio output is HDMI audio especially if you are using a HDMI cable for the video.
1st off it's a new vid card that was installed...
2nd we still don't know what audio device is involved...
So at the risk of over-complicating things go to Device Manager and see if you have any Yellow !!'s...
If so re-install those drivers from the manuf. site and re-boot...does that change anything ? ?
On a side note while in Control Panel check Sounds and see if anything is muted and all outputs are enabled.
