|
Answer» RECENTLY i replaced my spolit motherboard with a new one. I can't GET into WINDOWS there after. What should i do. I don't wish to format and reinstall windows again as i have very important data inside my hardiskMore information is required. 1. Why can it not load Windows? 2. Does it play any beeps on start-up? 3. Can you power on the computer? 4. Are all cables firmly connected? No beeps, there's power on my computer all cables firmly connected. Most likely its my hardisk, I change a new brand mobo so i assume that's why i can't get into windows xp. So what should i do, i don't wish to lost the data in my hardisk by re-formating the current partition and reinstalling window xp. If you BELIEVE the Hard Disk Drive is at fault, you should disconnect it to see if the computer will power on. I suggest that you recheck all power connectors. Have you taken precautionary measures against electro-static discharge whilst installing the mainboard? my buddy has the EXACT same problem, it was due to a videocard not set correctly in the slot, try there, try ALL the PCI/AGP slots to be sure they are all seated firmly. |
