Solve : Can't install my new graphics card.? |
|
Answer» I just received the GRAPHICS card I just ordered, EVGA GeForce 9800 GT, but I can't install it. I have the proper port, power supply, ROOM, and WHATNOT but it's the mounting bracket (correct name?). I'm not big with computer hardware so I didn't notice this when I got my computer for xmas of '08 but the mounting bracket (B) was bent outwards. They even went as far to wrongly install a switch or something (C) BACKWARDS. I don't think bending it is the answer, you should remove part A and the plate that blocks the hole. You should place the card so that the "tab" at the top of the backplate lies on B, insert the screw and replace part B.Correct, except for bold above: "...replace part A.If you look at pic 1 exhibit A, you see the little screw im willing to bet you there is one on the bottom half of the case as well, if you remove both of the screws that bracket should COME off and you should be able to take the blanks out of the way and install your graphics card with out an issue >.< Good luck, hope you understand. |
