Answer» im trying to play a 720p mkv file, and I don't know what im doing wrong. Her is what iv have tried cccp codec pack (STILL wasnt recognized by windows) wmc or whatever its called (didnt work) vlc (didnt work) various converters (dont work) what do i do? if it MEANS much , im RUNNING on windows xpWhere did the file come from?vlc should have run it. Maybe the file is damaged.Did you open it IN vlc? or just install it and use Windows Media Player? The other possibility is your graphics CARD wont support the rendering mode...depending on how advanced or not it is.
