Solve : cannot boot up gateway computer?

Answer»

Everytime I start my gateway computer, it begins to start up windows 2000, but than I get the blue screen of death saying " Stop Inaccessable_Boot_device.

It than tell my to uninstall any new HD or HD controllers, which I have not added any.

I KNOW that the JUMPER is set properly and I have tried this HD on a friends computer and it boots up just fine.

I recently had some problem with my OS, so I fdisked and reformatted the drive and installed windows 2000 using a friends computer only because I kept GETTING this message when I tried to reinstall  OS with HD  in my current machine.

Again, the HD works fine in the other computer, but when I put it back in MINE, I always get this message. I went into the BIOS setting and EVERYTHING appears to be fine.

Please help, Thank's

JeffInstall OS while HD is in Gateway computer, not some other computer.Maybe you'll need to reinstall the OS in your gateway PC. Cause maybe there is sumthing wrong in the kernel that can't reconize your hardware. :)I have done what was suggested and now my computer works fine.

Thank you for all your assistance.
