Basically what it said on the opening message, HOPING to make the switch up to a SATA HDD, but got it all connected, "felt ACTION inside the drive" so I know its working, but alas, nowt. Any ideas?

DazzaThe drivers need to be installed before it will be recognised...
What flavor of Windows is this ? ?
Did you recieve a driver CD with the drive ? ?
You left out some important details so far...Drivers for a HARD drive?? I've never heard of such a thing... windows should automatically pick it up.

Is the hard drive detected in BIOS?Quote from: RankenTech on October 09, 2007, 09:57:38 PM

Is the hard drive detected in BIOS?

Do you have any SATA HDD's currently installed in your machine ? ?
Have you installed any ? ?A HDD that is detected in Setup won't be recognised by Windows until it is properly partitioned and formatted...and if it's a SATA drive it most times needs drivers.

If you have issues with the advice i GIVE we'll discuss it through other channels...this is not the first time
