Answer» Hi, My friend was messing around with my PC and he somehow changed my hard drive or boot up settings, basically what's happening is if i start up my computer with a USB or EXTERNAL HHD it says something like cant find windows or boot up files not found. Obviously it's not a BIG deal because all i have to do is unplug my device and it wont happen but i think i should change it back. Thank you in advance and i hope this can help someone elses problem too.
If you need specs i will post them.I guess that usually happens if someone messes with your boot sector. I'd assume you have your pc configured so it TRIES to boot up from external ports and the dvd drive first, then the main hdd? Changing that boot check sequence should fix it (if you make your main hdd the first thing to try to boot from check). If you EVER need to boot from another medium you can directly choose that while on the motherboard splash screen or in the boot menu (depends on the MANUFACTURER).I have the same problem and solve it the same way. Just remove the USB devices until the machine boots. The option is in the BIOS. I leave it that way in case I want to boot from USB.Go into the bios and change the boot order so the hd is the first device. Save the changes and exit the bios.Thank you guys i will give it a try.
