so i REMOVED the hardrive out of my old computer. i put it in an enclosure case and made it into and external HD. everything is on there except my pics music and videos. i know there on there because when i check the size of the drive about 60 gigs are being used. i can only find about 15 gigs worth of files, programs etc... WHERES EVERYTHING ELSE??Did your old drive have just one partition, or more?Whats A partition?When your hard drive was still in your computer, if you opened My Computer, or Windows Explorer, your HD was listed there as just one letter C, or more, then one letter, like C, D, or C, D, E?just listed as C drive
I have no CLUE, why would that happen, but let's give it a shot.
Open Windows Explorer. Go TOOLS>Folder Options>View tab, and make sure, you have a checkmark next to "Show hidden files, and folders".They wouldn't happen to be in your My Documents folder??

C:\Documents and Settings\(Old user name here)\My documents

Check that and see if you can get in...you won't be able to if you made it encrypted!!
