Answer» Hey GUYS,
I recently got myself a new motherboard and a new chassis, so I need to put all my hardware from my old PC into the new one. Now I stumbled upon a problem. My CPU fan needs to be attached to a PLASTIC cross which is GLUED onto the back of my old motherboard. And I cant get it off! Its stuck and the only way i might possibly get it off is by using a screwdriver and force. Which might also break it.. I really need to get it off or i wont be able to put my CPU fan in PLACE. The old motherboard came with the PC so i didn't put it in myself. Is there any way to get it off? I looked on the internet and all i could find was CPU fans which were attached to the mobo simply by pushing it down and turn something a little. But mine is attached with screws. Please guys?
Thanks in advance! We need to know which MBoard/CPU combo this is...Unfortunately i dont know that The CPU fan came with the CPU itself (q6600) Apparently the THING i need to get off is called a mounting bracket, but again, its attached to the back of the mobo with glue. The Q6600 hCPU cooler is held down with 4 plastic thumbscrews...they rotate 1/4 turn to fasten and un-fasten...Nah its not one like that It looks very much like this one except for its plastic:

Thanks for your replies btw
EDIT: and is doesn't have anything on the frontside of the motherboardThat's a backplate. It's peel & stick. You should be able to find it somewhere.
