Answer» Recently, an intermittent high-pitched noise has been coming from somewhere on my motherboard; I have to restart for it to go away. I've swapped power supplies, so I know it's not that. For some reason, it's almost guaranteed to happen while watching flash videos for a few hours. ALSO, whenever the ear-bleeding squeal starts, my onboard audio stops working. The FREQUENCY is too great for me to pinpoint with my earholes exactly where it's coming from though. Is a whole NEW motherboard the only/cheapest solution to this?I had one that did the same thing; it was the audio card. Since yours is onboard audio, you'll have to replace the motherboard. Depending on the cpu & memory, you WANT one that USES the same.Man, that's what I was afraid of. I DEMAND A BETTER SOLUTION. one that doesn't involve spending a hundred bucks. just kidding. thanks for the reply.Does system BIOS allow you to disable the on-board audio? Perhaps you could replace it with an add-on card. |
