Solve : Car stereo - CD player that also plays .mp3 files? |
|
Answer» I have a friend whose new car has a built in CD player. It will also accept and play CDs with .mp3 files saved on them as data. It depends on how advanced the player is... All I know is that it is a brand new Ford. A couple MONTHS old. Quote Basic players will probably not be able to see files anywhere but in the root directory. Fair enough. I guess the safest thing to do is burn them all in the root dir then. Probably be upwards of 150 files. In your experience there is no problem with that.... players will just go through them all? Thanks Quote from: WillyW on April 08, 2008, 12:44:42 PM Probably be upwards of 150 files. In your experience there is no problem with that.... players will just go through them all?It should work just fine. Considering the price of blank CDs you could burn a copy with music in folders as well, just to see if the player will read them. I'm so tight... I squeak when I walk. Nice, Wally -- too bad it's not the good OL' days when America Online sent out all those introductory floppy disks which we used to reformat and reuse... I assume that you can just burn the mp3 files directly as 'files' to the cd and it should play (and most likely you don't need to worry about special directories) Quote from: Aegis on April 08, 2008, 02:41:00 PM Nice, Wally -- too bad it's not the good ol' days when America Online sent out all those introductory floppy disks which we used to reformat and reuse... Yeah but now it's all those USB flash drives filled with erasable adverts that get erased within 1 second of the drive being received in the mailbox!Quote Yeah but now it's all those USB flash drives filled with erasable adverts that get erased within 1 second of the drive being received in the mailbox! Ooh, I am like, so jealous -- I haven't gotten anything like that! Even better than a floppy drive!!! Good for you!! Quote from: Aegis on April 08, 2008, 02:41:00 PM QuoteWhat?!!? I'm so tight... (and most likely you don't need to worry about special directories) Worry? ... no, it's not like that. I was wanting to know if I had the option, in case I wanted to use sub-directories, for my own reasons. Grouping, organization.... whatever. With me now?Quote With me now? Sure, we're with you -- we just follow the squeaking... Quote from: Aegis on April 09, 2008, 07:20:21 PM QuoteWith me now? I'd RATHER stay with the clicking instead of the squeaking :-) Just a little less frisky imo. |
