i CANT get it opened. I tried PUTTING the pin in through the whole and it still doesnt open. I assume that the CD is in the drive - probably not seated correctly.

Push on the release with the pin (paper clip MAY be better) and, at the same time, try to pull the tray open.

If that doesn't work, make sure that the straightened paperclip is a couple inches (5 cm, or so) long. Push the paperclip into the HOLE until you feel some resistance, continue pushing and the tray ought to begin coming out, grasp it and pull gently.
