Answer» I've had my laptop for about 2 years and I just got a new HARD drive (not by choice, it was TOTALLY screwed.) Everything's been working great apart from my CD drive. I put a CD in and nothing happens. I tried going into My Computer but the CD drive wasn't there. This is really frustrating as I need to put my CDs on iTunes ASAP. Does anyone have any clue how I can FIX this? I'm reluctant to go get it fixed as it's just been fixed already and my PARENTS will not be happy with me! Thanks! (I have an E-systems 3113 laptop. It has Windows XP)Insert a BOOTABLE cd in the drive and reboot (make sure the CD drive is at the top of the boot order in your bios). Does the system see the cd at boot?If it's just been fixed take it back because it isn't fixed good enough.
