Please note that is is helpful if you can give use details.

If this computer is a laptop or notebook, we need to kno the make and model and about how long you have had it.

If it is under warranty, the manufacture should help with this problem. Recently many LAPTOPS have had problems with DVD players. I have two in the shop now. But please do NOT take it to a shop if it is still inside the warranty. You do not have to pay to get it fixed.I really hate it when it is still in warranty and they will tell you that they'll diagnose the problem and try to fix it. Worst if they tell you that they have to ship it back for a replacement. Dont expect it to be back anytime soon. there should be a law or policy that it should not take more than a week for a replacement, or at least provide a service unit of the similar KIND. you paid for it and the AGONIZING wait is just too BS to take
