Solve : Cd/dvd drive problems?

I have been having some trouble getting my cd drive to read DISKS. So I decided to check out the properties of my cd/dvd drive in my computer. Under the hardware tab I found an unusual drive: WD1200JB-00GVC0. This drive is pointing to the hard disk drive rather than the cd/dvd drive.
I checked out its properties and its not enabled, it is also found in the device manager under "disk drive"

I have tried resetting the properties for my cd/dvd drive to point to the correct path,
however it will not LET me apply any of the changes.

Can someone help me fix this? I have tried unistalling it from the device manager, however when i rebooted the computer, it turned up with "found new hardware"

Is this even related to the problem i am having with my cd/dvd drive, or is that completely separate, EITHER WAY...can someone please help fix these two problems?Quote

This is in fact a Western Digital hard drive...
What is LISTED in Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager under CD/DVD drives ? ?
