hello this is a kind of fun
can any buddy tell me how 2 interface cd rom with microcontroller or any other hardware other than pc
can i replace my car stereo with thisNo.thanxactually, i sort'of know how. but it will TAKE ALOT of patience and alot of research.
first get the pinouts for an IDE cable. Then get a PSU. the connect the ide data channel (and address channel) to the microcontroller. write a program to play music. port that program to the microcontroller. then connect the analog audio port in the back of the cd-rom to some amplifiers and then the amplifiers to the speakers.Quote

it did say it would take alot of patience and research. It WILL be cheaper to just buy a standalone CD player. (much cheaper). And is there something I am doing wrong? Why is everyone saying 'NO' without explanation. agreed, it is unpractical. but there is a way.Who MADE that up?there's a way to doing that, but your CD drive must have line out jack, then you can connect the CD drive to a PSU, connect speaker to line out jack, put in audio cd, press the play BUTTON. but one issue is ATX PSU may not suitable. i'm not sure it'll working, but it sure won't work in your car. you need ELECTRONIC shock resistant.
