Answer» I have a gateway notebook running WindowsXP that's over a year old. Somehow the driver has been uninstalled. I've searched the internet for a driver, but to no avail. I've even opted to reinstall the OS but the cdrom won't even work. I've tried boot to cdrom and that STILL won't work. There's POWER running to the hardware. The device manager is SHOWING that the cdrom driver is not installed properly or corrupted. The cdrw/dvd-rom is ujda720 Matshita. What do I do next?What makes you think the driver is uninstalled vs. the CDRom has died.? Does it show up in device manager?
