Solve : CD Rom not reading cd's? |
|
Answer» Hi, Yes I have uninstalled it and window did find it. I did try a different cd rom and it does the same thing. :-/ Please explain...does this mean that you tried another CDRom drive and it did not work ? ? If so here's what it could be in no order... Bad IDE cable CD + DVD not jumpered correctly. IDE channel is wonked on that board. patio. 8-)And that is why he was encouraged to try that drive in another machine before chunking it.Understood. But he kinda said he tried another CD unit and it didn't work...the google translator didn't make it clear. patio. 8-)Are you sure the Google Translator has been dusted off? How about some compressed air?Me again.... I took the CD rom out and tried a new CD rom in the machine - the new CD rom did the same thing. I did use compressed air and no CHANGE. My assumption is the cables - which one should I start with IDE? I'm thinking the DVD/CD is jumped correctly as this used to work - it just quite one day. I don't think the IDE Channel is wonked as my other drive still works. Any other suggestions for me?You need to list ALL drives, how they are cable, and how they are jumpered. |
