Answer» ???Tried 2 different CD ROMS in same computer detects but wont read any media.Both CD Roms are working when tested on another PC.Tried changing IDE Cable-no luck...Changed from IDE1 to IDE2-NO LUCK.....Able to read HD on same IDE but not CD Rom.Never experienced this problem before I NEED HELP!Have a look at these articles: CD-ROM receiving POWER but does not work CD-ROM not working in Windows 9x Perhaps updating mainboard drivers will allow you to read CD's. Some mainboards (Such as my Gigabyte 7N400 Pro) seem to have issues with reading certain CD's DUE to their type of security.must be a windows problem what operating system..guess winxp have you tried removing them in the device manager....and re-boot..more info here>HTTP://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q311455 and are these pre-recorded disks? or burnt ones?
