Heres the deal: My cd-rom keeps disappering. It worked for a while, but now it just sits there. It says the drive is there in My Computer, and under my hardware desc, and it opens, but when a disk is in it it just sits there and says its not ready yet. Ive tried two diffrent cdroms, both work for a while and then just die. I am running a P2 celeron, win 98, with 256 meg ram and 7 meg hard drive. I know its not MUCH, but poor people gotta play games too.......any help would be apprecaited, and if you COULD, e-mail me the help, at [email protected]try replacing your IDE cable, as it might be going bad....if that dont work your IDE Controller might be going out... And in that CASE youll have to replace the Mobo..Hello James
There are some possibilities DUE to which your CD ROM is not working properly or stops working. Do try the following things:
Try to change the power supply of your CD Drive. This can be done by connecting the hard disk ower cable to your CD ROM and that of CD ROM to your hard disk.
Second do the same with DATA CABLE.
Third make sure that that ur Drive is working properly. This can be tested by using the same CD Drive on some other PC.
