Solve : Changed Mobo now Vista is not Genuine?

Answer»

Like the topic said I just recently changed my Mobo because the factory built one died and now it is saying Vista is not Genuine. Is there any way to fix this?Did you call Microsoft?
Which Vista is it? Did it come with it?
By the way, you did not give us much information.
You must buy the replacement motherboard from the maker.
Normally, the factory VISTA install and the hardware are sold as a 'package' and can not be separated.
Do you have a backup of the original VISTA install?

On this forum we do not provide you with a WORK around for this problem. Otherwise, people would use a work around to separate the OS from the hardware and create pirate PCs..

Next time, when en you buy a PC, get an extended warranty so that the total investment is covered.  Or else be prepared to buy a new legal copy of a new Operating System.  Come to think  of it, that might be the best solution for you at this point.yah, he's TRYING to use an OEM version of Windows on a motherboard not MADE for the disc.I really wish people would stop spelling it "VISTA". it's Vista.
