Solve : Changing my monitor status from Analog to Digital?

Answer»

Hello everyone, i recently purchased a new LCD monitor (a LG L1960TR) and i tried using it with my dvi cable, anyways the monitor is set on Analog (Device manager->Monitors-> LG L1960TR (Analog) ive been trying to change it manually for the past 2 hours and i cant do anything to change it, reading all SORTS of useless metirial, basicly ive a GForce GTS 8800 graphic card, 6600 quad core proceccor and you already know my monitor type...(BTW its currently connected through both VGA and DVI plugins since i cant see anything without the VGA installed) ive been trying to reinstall my graphic card and monitor DRIVERS, nothing works =[ can anyone please tell me once and for all how do i change it from analog to digital?sorry if you concider this messege spamming but no one replyed me =[ please help When you connect DVI port on your video card to DVI on your monitor, it should automatically read digital signal.
Did you install monitor drivers, which came on companion CD?finaly a reply! thanks so much for your time! =]
umm i did install my monitors drivers and it still cant read monitor when its connected through its dvi, my monitor is brand new, as well as my computer and dvi cable i HONESTLY dont know whats the problem here it should have been working by now =[
ive tried connecting my monitor through both dvi and vga (which is connected from the monitor to my motherboard), its like my graphic card cant tell my monitor is connected to it. Try updating your video card driversi already tried doing that =[ it says i have the latest driver updateNo, it doesn't matter what Device Manager says. GO to nVidia web site, and look for your drivers there.thats what i ment, i went there, typed my video cards DETAILS (GeForce FX GTS 8800) and downloaded the driver it gave me, didnt help it still cant read my monitor as i said before i can only use my monitor through the motherboard... i tried looking for additional updates but it kept saying i own the latest ones...
Edit:
maybe this will help clear things out:

Since it's brand new monitor, I'd call monitor maker to sort it out. Maybe DVI port is busted, or never worked.
