Answer» ASUS P8Z77-V LX motherboard running WINDOWS 7 (64 bit) reports chasis fan overheating 2600 rpm the fan works fine, and computer runs all day (for several months now) all temperatures seem to be O.K. not sure if if this is dangerous or not or have I plugged the chasis fan (2) into the wrong connector or is there a WAY to monitor or control this fan ? Can supply more info if required What app is reporting it over-heating ? ? You can DLoad and install SpeedFan for more readings... Also i believe on that MBoard the BIOS also reports case/board temps... Not sure which application is reporting overheating it just comes up with a red square in the bottom right hand corner of screen reporting fan overheating 2600 rpm. I went into BIOS and turned all the fan monitoring to ignore - no changeWhat did SpeedFan report ? ?Reports that one of the hard drives is running hot (128 deg) system fan 1158 rpm 23 deg, CPU fan 2027 rpm 25 deg aux fan 634 rpm GPU 25 deg, is this correct as 2000 rpm seems too high but no chip temps seem to be overheatingIs that HDD excessively hot to the touch ? ?yep stinking its only a spare ssd that I use as a scratch disk for photoshop ...will DISCONNECT but still worried about the temps and revsThe other Temps you reportwe at 25c are actually well WITHIN range for the CPU/GPU...
