Solve : cloning using a spliter with two different brands?

Answer»

OK I'm new to this so go easy...

I just bought a 3 monitor set up 2 of the monitors will be used as an extended desk top. the 3rd monitor(one I already had) will be a clone to one of the monitors so that my CLIENTS can VIEW it at my desk..  The PROBLEM I'm having is that the cloned set of monitors are connected with a splitter and are different BRANDS but the same res 1680x1050 when they are both hooked up the computer doesn't know what monitor its looking at.  If I START the computer and only one monitor is hooked up it works fine and I can even hook the clone up and the res. is perfect but if the computer get started up with both hooked up the image is very large and the res gets set to 1024x768 but in properties it still says its 1680x1050 so I don't know how to over ride the computer not knowing what brand its hooked to and just put out the right res?

I know that was long and may not make much sense but that's what I got.
