Solve : Common heat sinks for laptops and desktops??

I am doing some academic research on the interoperability of heat sinks of laptops and desktops.

Are the heat sinks of laptops and desktops same? I would IMAGINE that there could be some DIFFERENCES due to the space restrictions of the laptop. But I am not SURE.

Of course, that's true. I gather you're not familiar with heatsinks for processors. Otherwise, you would not have asked this question. With laptops, the heat dissipation features are basically unalterable by the user; they will always remain as they were built by the MANUFACTURER. With desktops, you can replace heatsinks on processors.
