Answer» Comp wont start up every time i turn it on all i hear is a very long beep soundWhat Bios do you have. Depending on that. Award Bios One long beep can mean Ram, reseat it or try some other. IBM Bios if its a Continuous beep. No POWER, loose card, reseat your cards or try some others if you have some spare. Or theres a short. Check in that order. Are you sure its one long beep and not a series of beeps.More info required! my pc boots with a long beep?its just one long beep, it last about a second or two and then it keeps doing it Quote all i hear is a very long beep sound Quote its just one long beep, it last about a second or two and then it keeps doing it Is that you Flame?nahJoe167-- Try this: 1)UNPLUG computer and open case. 2)remove RAM (one stick at a time) 3)put one stick into slot 1 4)plug in computer. 5)turn on computer 6)if beeping goes away, bad RAM stick was removed. If not, repeat steps 1-5 with the other stick. Quote
No lol Why you think it's me? Joe, do you have PROTECTION from viruses and Spyware? [glb]Flame[/glb] Quote its just one long beep, it last about a second or two and then it keeps doing it I dont understand. How is it along beep if you say it lasted about a second or two. A second would mean a short beep. I think you need to describe the beeps abit better before someone can say what it is. For now though id see if the Ram thing did any good.ok my mistake the beep is about 8 SECONDS long and i moved the ram stick around the beep still continude and then i tried with a diff stick and it still continude to mke the long beepYou still havnt said what Bios you have. Did you get an Error message on screen or is your screen blank. The beep can mean diffrent things for diffrent Bios. If its an AMI Bios one long beep means it has passed the post and is ok. Or if its one of the Bios i have mentioned in the second post above, it can mean a problem. Did you do anthing to the computer just before this happened. Get back to me about what Bios you have and if its not an AMI Bios In the mean time try this. Disconnect everything from the back of your computer even the monitor so that there is just the power cable connected. Now boot the computer up and tell me what beep or beeps you hear and if they are short or long. While doing this MAKE sure all the fans in the computer are running including the power supply unit fan, Heatsink fan.Need more info on this pc to help you! |
