Hi Everybody!

I have a Compaq MV540 monitor. I run XP.
This monitor USED to fine, but somewhere along the way it became dark. I can still see text, but some picture and MOVIES are so dark that I can't make them out.
I have tried a monitor diagnostic and I have the controls set to max on both brightness and contrast.
I think that when I wasn't paying attention (which is most of the time) that a windows update changed my driver.
I have tried to find the proper driver for the Compaq and I have had no luck.
I also tried a rollback? and that did not work.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Which video CARD do you have installed? Or is it on-board?

I guess I should have included more info about my system.
I am truly ignorant when it comes to hardware, well for that matter SOFTWARE too.
The video card must be on-board.

My monitor was purchased in August of 2002, but I've had the darkening problem for at least a year, maybe a bit longer.
