Answer» OK, I'm a newbie to this forum. My friend has a Compaq Presario 5102US with 128MB of SDRAM. I was going to get her another 256MB DIMM to add to it. My QUESTION is, is it compatible?
The memory that is there is: Bus Clock: PC100 Pins: 168 Module: SDRAM Memory Type: DIMM Data Integrity Check: Non-ECC, Unbuffered Voltage: 3.3V CL: 2 Chip Configuration: 16 x 8 Memory Specification: PC100 168-PIN SDRAM DIMM
I was looking at a Kingston module Model KVR133Q/256 According to this it's a PC100/PC133 SDRAM DIMM memory module that RUNS at 133, not 100.
Will this work ok? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it because I was going to get the memory as a last MINUTE Christmas gift.
Thanks in advance. Also I just noticed, the one in there now has a chip configuration of 16 x 8......the Kingston SAYS it's 16 x 64, if that helps any.http://www.crucial.com/
