Answer» Hello , I have a Gateway MA7. When I switch it on it goes to options , Safe mode , NORMAL start up etc. and then says it is loading . That's all it does . It doesn't actually go any further. The mains plug came out accidentally the other day and since then the laptop will go no further. I have tried loading in safe mode but I get the same thing. Thanks Glenn OS?Hi Allan It was vista , the I had it repaired and I BELEIVE its now XP. What do you mean you had it repaired? EXACTLY what happened and why? As for what to do now, boot to your XP CD, CHOOSE the FIRST repair option, and when you get to the recovery console run chkdsk /r. Then reboot. Let's see what happens.Okay thanks Allan , I will do that . As far as the previous repair , I just had a blank screen and sent it off for repair. It was quite a while ago now. Cant remember the details . And they changed the Operating System? That doesn't SOUND right.
