Solve : Computer Crash, Then Wont start?

Answer»

Hi, I'm new to this, but I've searched the forum and there isnt any other posts that relate to my problem, so here goes.

Basically what happens is when I use my computer to run a program, usually games(even ones with really low graphics), my computer just turns off. I guess its like a crash but it doesnt restart like it would if it was over heating and when I press the power BUTTON to boot up after nothing happens. Its like its not even plugged in! So i remove the plug from the mains and wait a while and then plug it back in, then it starts fine?!

I've had this problem for a while, but it only happened on one game so i just assumed my computer couldnt handle it.

This is a breif discription of my pc;
CPU; ATHLON 2700+
M/B; MSI KT4AV-L
GFX; Radeon 9800pro 128(brand new)
RAM; 512mb DDR333 Crucial
P/S; 550W
Snd; Creative Sound card (dont remeber which one)

I also have 4 case fans and a coolmaster heat sink on the go which keeps my CPU 46 and CASE 32 (C). 1 DVD driver and 1 CD-RW, Floppy and all the other usual stuff.

I'd really appriciate it if you guys could help me out, although its probably got something to do with the fact i built this pc 4 years ago and didn't use all of my brain when purchasing the mobo  What type of PSU is installed?q-tec 550w dual fan

Definitely not a keeper.

But before looking into replacing the power supply unit, do the following and see if it still happens:

1. Right click on My Computer
2. Properties
3. Advanced tab
4. Startup and recovery settings (Poorly translated)
5. Settings button
6. Untag automatically reset PC.any recommended replacements?

(I didnt realise that the psu could be causing this, has it just worn out?)Read the rest of my post as well.

I would not recommend any Qtec HARDWARE to anyone. Especially not when you expect performance or stability from your system.yeah, thanks dude, as soon as pay day comes i'll get another psu. Any recommendations? Quote

I tried that last night, it didn't work. I guess at least its not a system fault/Overheating?

There wasnt anything in my EVENT log. My computer just shuts down like a power cut, i guess thats why there isnt anything. Its not my video drivers, I'm certain because I've reinstalled them(Omega Drivers) and tried the default ones (ATI). I doubt its the game that needs patching because it happens on all my games.
Power suppky is really suspect....ok thanks for your help !! I got this message just now

(blue screen) 0xD1 / Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal

Does this change anything? or do I have 2 problems, Just be my luck.
