Solve : Computer got wet.. not sure what to replace?

Answer»

So my COMPUTER got wet in this horrible California weather and now im trying to diagnose what I should REPLACE. It started with a big leak in my roof in my office. The water did not directly fall on the computer but bounced off the floor and toward the front of the comp. Unfortunately my computer was on. I leave it on BASICALLY all the time. I dried it up and restarted. In trying to boot it up normally, (I have windows xp) it will show the loading screen yet freezes on the second bar that scrolls. I then have to boot to safe mode with networking. By the way.. the screen has a lot of static about every inch up and down. I tested the screen on my other computer and that works perfect. I cant test the graphics card because I only have one comp that has pci-express. So it will boot to safe mode... the audio DOESNT work, and I can't tell if its the graphics card because its in safe mode. There are no signs in the systems log of all the peripherals that anything is malfunctioning. And sometimes I try to scroll down on a menu and it will not let me. Any ideas.. I think its between the video card and motherboard? Plus, if I misdiagnose... if I use a faulty video card on a new motherboard(if I have to buy one) can the faulty hardware mess up the rest of the hardware its currently on? Hopefully the sound card will work with another motherboard.Sorry but to add, if the motherboard got fried, does that also mean the CPU automatically GETS affected too?Remove a side panel and place a good size fan next to it and let it blow on there overnite at least...remove all power to the case.
