I have a compaq presario with windows xp. When I power on my computer INITIALLY in the morning it doesn't startup/nothing shows on my screen. I need to let it then run for awhile and then shut it down a few times and eventually it will start up and run fine. I don't know a TON about computers but any advice would help. It runs fine once it finally STARTS up but I don't want to leave it running 24/7 365...please help
thanksI'd suggest to borrow a known working power supply of the same or greater wattage and swapping it in there to eliminate it as the main culprit...do you just mean to try another outlet?I moved it to a different room in the HOUSE to see if it would help and I tried a power strip and it is still doing it..any other suggestions?thanksNo.

Do you know anyone that works on computers in your area ? ?
As things can and will go wrong maybe they could show you the steps involved in changing the power supply.
Ask around and let US know.
